Monday Muzak LVII: Chronological Reinforcement

Skyward Sword, if you haven't heard, is the earliest story in the entire Zelda universe. With it, Nintendo released an official statement discussing the overall timeline in the series. Years of releases and installments have been arranged in front of players chronologically, linking adventures and worlds together. Knowing what follows this journey or that one has, for me at least, woven together a much bigger picture of the game's mythos. Character and story is reinforced by history like that. The game itself, however, places on emphasis on the history of three pivotal characters recurring throughout the series. The Hero, the Girl, and the Antagonist. More appropriately, it focuses on your experience as the player. The Hero. The adventurer. The courageous knight saving the princess(es) from countless evils and perils.

The trailer was accompanied by a remix of the soundtrack's "Ballad of the Goddess". This inspirational track's driving melody (@0:45) gets me pumped up every time.

I am so ready for an adventure.

  1. I suppose you've heard all about the Ballad's connection with later games, yeah? This game actually did quite a bit more with the soundtrack than I'm used to from Zelda games, it was a nice change of pace.

  2. Are you talking about the reversed Lullaby?
