Monday Muzak XXIII: Audioscape

Remember that poster in FFVII's intro? Within the context of the game it was later described as a play titled "Loveless" (in Crisis Core it became a large part of the plot, even). In reality, however, the poster was an album cover for one of the most influential albums in the alternative music scene. You can find thesis papers proving its significance. I've been a fan of theirs ever since I heard this song, Sometimes, and have been hooked ever since.



Their heavy use of distortion, later coined 'shoegazing' due to the need to constantly look down to manage the distortion pedal, is ethereal in nature.
