Monday Muzak XXXII: FeId (spoilers, lol)

Xenogears was one of the most plot-heavy titles I've ever played through. Numerous twists and turns are speckled throughout the overall arc, but the way the story unveils the main character's background turns a cliche amnesiac hero into an emotionally interesting and fairly complex person. The One Who Is Torn Apart is the theme for Fei's split personality, Id, who encompasses the brutal, aggressive, and violent side of his nature. Most of the time it is played as a city is being destroyed, giant warships are being crushed on a whim, or Id's presence alone is inspiring immense awe and wonder. The chimes and piano help create a sense of mystery and atmosphere for the song, whereas the piano caps things off with hints of ominous tones.
