In a game with a grand adventure, the ending is always bound to catch those that have invested the time and effort it took to make it to The End. Upon reaching that point a familiar tune sets the mood for the finale, representing the calming culmination of the events that led up to that moment. When done well, these moments can bring someone to tears, and the audio is a powerful element of putting the player in that situation.
Chrono Trigger's "To Far Away Times" is a reassuring song to me. When it kicks in and I see my team flying across the world in their airship, after bidding farewell to the friends they made throughout the journey, I feel that one thing is absolutely certain.
