Mega Man has its share of awesome rock songs, but nothing compares to the intro of Mega Man 2. Maybe it wasn't the music alone. Maybe it was the epic build up. Maybe it was how the camera scaled the building. Maybe it was how, all of a sudden, the title appears in the night sky after an abrupt change in the track.
Regardless, that was epic.
